Default Esf President's Letter

To the Presidents of all ESF Member Associations

Dear President

First of all I would like to wish you personally a very prosperous New Year.

For your Company and your Organisation I also wish very positive developments for 2010, following the troubles caused by the recent economic crisis.

I don’t think this terrible crisis is yet completely finished but I hope the worst is behind us. In the European Sign Federation we are working very hard to assist you with developments which will have a positive effect for the Sign Industry.

At our last Board meeting in Nice, attended by 28 delegates, a number of decisions were taken; Our various Working Groups proposed a number of solutions to improve our position, primarily in the Technical area and also with regard to Sign Regulation through Europe, for which a detailed survey of the situation in the different Counties covered by the ESF will be published.

The Board also reactivated the Education Working Group, with David Beeckman as Chair, to extend progress with Education and Training subjects.

The main decision taken was to organise in June 2010, in Munchen, Germany, a Congress which will be held during the FESPA Exhibition. This event will be known as “The Sign Summit” with a programme designed to attract a large number of delegates as we need a successful result to showcase the dynamism of our industry.[/

You will soon receive more information from Luc Steegmans, the ESF First Vice-President, who is in charge of the event with our German Colleagues. But please make a note of the date in your diary- 23rd June 2010- in order that you may be present with a large delegation from your Country.

I sincerely hope these decisions will receive your approval and your support.

Peter Tipton, ESF Secretary, and I continue to be at your disposal.

With very best regards
Jean-Pierre Rousseau
ESF President
