New Investment Pays Dividends for Allen Signs

An ambitious sign making and vehicle livery firm based in the East Midlands has invested over £100,000 in a new piece of kit to expand the range of printing services offered to clients.

Allen Signs, based in Lincoln and Nottingham, and its sister company Double Red Print can now print directly on to materials such as wood, glass, plastic, textiles, hardboard and MDF up to two inches thick.

The new EFI H1625 LED flatbed machine can print in white as well as colour and also has the ability to print roll-fed media which allows for greater creativity and faster turnaround times.

Managing Director David Allen explained: “This is a significant investment but we are confident it will pay off as we’ll be able to do so much more and in a shorter time, which can only be good news for customers.

This new investment should open up new opportunities for us, for example, to produce estate agency ‘for sale’ signs, creative window graphics and point of sale materials.

“We can also print in high definition on almost any material up to two inches (5.08cm) thick and 65 inches (165cm) wide, so the capabilities are endless!”

Matt Ryder from Double Red Print added: “We already do a lot of printing for shop displays and exhibitions but this will enable us to be even more creative. It can even print realistic-looking textures to give your image a canvas, leather or wood grain effect.

“Retailers and other businesses are always looking to get ahead of the competition and attract customers’ attention and this new printer will help our clients to stand out from the crowd.”
