Signs Express helping to power the future at Glasgow Science Centre

Signs Express had the challenging task of organising and manufacturing the impressive array of new displays and signage at their unit.

Over the period of 3 weeks from initial design, there were numerous elements to the work carried out by Signs Express, including interactive display panels, exhibit interpretation boards, built up text and various other bespoke items. There were also various illuminated displays including the Entrance Sign, the Biowall Sign (an entire living wall system containing a range of different plant species) and The Dancefloor (expending energy in the form of dancing).

This was the third major project that local company, Signs Express worked on with Glasgow Science Centre. Graham Casey, Signs Express (Glasgow’s) owner said “We really enjoy working with the science centre and were thrilled to be asked to help with this project. Due to the size of the project, it demanded all of the in-house equipment and utilised all of the extensive skills in the team to ensure we completed the work to the highest standard. I am extremely proud of the team and the work they delivered”.

Due to the complexity and scale of the content, artwork sign-off was managed in batches by GSC and Signs Express were very accommodating of this, despite it not being the ideal situation for their production requirements.

Signs Express integrated graphics with set work and exhibits, working with numerous other subcontractors, demonstrating a flexible and extremely supportive level of customer service. They delivered the project to a high standard, on-time and within budget as with previous projects that they have worked on with GSC.

Signs Express always find a solution to our challenging brief, whether it be hundreds of custom cut dibond panels, suspended lightboxes, back-lit acrylic lettering, bespoke acrylic design features or frosted window graphics. All of these elements brought the finishing touch to Powering the Future and pulled together all the themes of the exhibition to give a cohesive overall design.
