All Signs Lead to Tattershall Castle

The free audio guides and signage around Tattershall Castle, near Horncastle, now have a new look thanks to the two Lincoln-based creative companies.

Sara Blair Manning, General Manager at The National Trust, said: “Tattershall Castle is a unique heritage site that attracts a vast number of visitors every year.

“We decided to freshen up the castle and install new signs to help guide people around the site as they had not been replaced in over 20 years!”

Elpeeko Ltd developed the design concepts while Allen Signs managed the manufacture and installation process.

In addition to creating completely new signage for the castle, Allen Signs also created 12 audio boards, made from acrylic panels mounted onto bespoke ash timber plinths.

“Our free audio guides are a great feature which help our customers imagine the castle in its medieval prime,” Sara added.

“I am very pleased with the quality of work Allen Signs has produced. The team have done an excellent job to enhance the visitor experience at Tattershall Castle.”

Glen Merryweather, Sales and Marketing Manager at Allen Signs, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work on the Tattershall Castle project. It is a beautiful building which is of great importance to the county.”

Clare Griffiths, Art Director at Elpeeko Ltd, explained that she decided to get Allen Signs involved after working with them in the past.

“Our main focus is on design and print but sometimes we get asked to work on projects which require other capabilities such as producing signage. This is why we often team up with businesses such as Allen Signs who can provide the necessary expertise, and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”
