Sygnet specialise in the metal fabrication of signs and have the enviable expertise available in-house to help decide on how best to make a sign not only safe and secure but attractive to the eye. Managing Director Gary Iley took over from his father at the helm of the business and for the past decade has seen the company go through some challenging times. Gary adds ‘We are very proud to have reached our 40th anniversary this year and I believe that the reason for this is due to us adhering to our mission statement -‘’Sygnet Signs aims to be the leading sign maker in the UK by investing in the latest machinery and constantly striving to provide the best quality product’’.

Sygnet Signs are based in Leicester city centre and manufacture multi sign roll outs for a wide variety of UK sign and display companies. They fabricate all of their signs in-house and have specific departments available to deal with each area of the manufacturing process from concept through to final product. Production director Kevin Newton can add ‘Collectively we have a vast amount of expertise available in house when it comes to fabricating signs. We pride ourselves on supplying quality signs that are manufactured to a very high standard and quality controlled throughout each stage of the manufacturing process.’ Sygnet see a wide variety of signs fabricated within their factory on a daily basis such as built up letters, flat cut letters, projection signs, fret-cut panels, back trays, totem and monolith signs, light boxes and panel and post systems. The latest addition to the in-house services available at Sygnet is their digital print service which provides their clients with high quality prints at a competitive price; whilst allowing them to have full control over their printing lead times.

Sygnet also specialise in the illumination of signs and have an in-house LED company LED Solutions available to offer expert advice and inspect the illumination of all signs before they leave the premises. LED Solutions are a sister-company to Sygnet and offer advice on how best to illuminate their client’s signs with a wide variety of LED products such as LED modules, flexible strips, light panels, cabochon bulbs and trough lights etc. Luke Dalton ‘Marketing Co-ordinator’ for the group can add ‘We work alongside Sygnet to offer their clients a vibrant and eye catching illumination within their sign. The sales team at Sygnet pride themselves on having a wealth of experience within the sign trade not just from a sales point of view but from a manufacturing perspective. The majority of sales staff have had first-hand experience of the production process at some point in their career and can offer reliable technical advice to their clients. Sales Director Chas Perry can add ‘Our sales team provide our clients with a ‘best way approach’ to fabricating their signs in the safest way possible. We regularly invite clients to come and visit us where they can discuss their projects/jobs with us or view our factory at full working capacity. Our clients know that they are in safe hands when they give us the opportunity to manufacture their signs for them.’ Sygnet have recently expanded their sales and estimating staff and recruited Wezley Siddons to their busy team to help deal with the increase in new business that they have received since the start of the year. Wezley had previously worked within a customer service based role in the banking industry and fully understands the importance of having customer focused objectives which Sygnet hold in very high regard.

Sygnet treat their client’s jobs with the upmost confidentiality and pride themselves on being a trade only supplier to the sign industry who are trustworthy with their client’s information and offer honest and reliable lead times. Client support and after care is another area that that is of the upmost importance to the company as they believe in helping their clients as much as possible with the rare occurrence of any issues after installation. Gary adds ‘We offer our clients a 12 month manufacturers guarantee with all of our signs and will endeavour to support our clients with any issues that they may receive. We see ourselves as an extension of our client’s team and aim to help them gain as much work as possible by providing expert advice on how best to manufacture their signs so that they can then provide their client with an appropriate solution’.

The future looks bright for Gary and his team at Sygnet Signs as the company goes from strength to strength and continues to invest heavily into the latest sign making machinery that will help them stay ahead of the competition. Gary finishes with ‘The fact that we have been established since 1974 should prove to the trade that we have the longevity and expertise as a company to deal with projects of all specifications and that we can offer our clients peace of mind when they do business with us’.
