With nearly 2,000 storage bays – compared to just 640 at the former site (an increase of almost 200%), and racking up to 8.5m high, the facility has the capacity to store nearly three times the boxes of materials.
Selection and picking of products for despatch is carried out using sophisticated state-of-the-art “pickers”. Orders are keyed in to an integral computer which then guides the truck to the required bays and products by means of RF sensor tracks embedded in the floor.
In addition, the warehouse features two loading bays that have been built to allow distribution vehicles to be positioned for ‘walk-in’ loading.
