Introduction to the BSGA...
Information and assistance

The BSGA provides members only with practical help with a number of issues including:

Planning Regulations
If you need help understanding planning regulations or need advice on a particular project you can call the BSGA helpline on 01733 230033. You will be given the information you need immediately or, in some cases, we will discuss your problem with a specialist in planning matters and get back to you with the answers.

Insurance
Many members of the sign and graphics trade have seen insurance costs rise in recent years along with escalating claims. A number of underlying trends have contributed to the hardening of the insurance market, but key factors have been:

Spiralling liability claims from the “blame and claim” society

• Substantial property claims, resulting from repetitive winter flooding

• The continuing fallout from the terrorist attacks on September 11th

• A general lack of capacity in the markets.

This is why the British Sign and Graphics Association have a specialist insurance facility, which is tailor made to suit the needs of the trade. This facility is run by Willis, one of the world’s leading risk management and insurance intermediaries. With 26 offices nation-wide, Willis is committed to providing BGSA members with the highest levels of service.

Whilst other brokers have painstakingly reviewed all their individual risks and readjusted their rates, Willis has taken a more proactive stance by establishing a panel of Insurers who understand the sign and graphics industry, and by helping clients cut costs, through reducing risks and improving health and safety management.

Jane Whitehouse of Impact Signs, a BSGA member and Willis client says, “Willis have always been highly competitive, and provided us with an excellent service, responding to our every need with the utmost professionalism”.
