Established in 2002, Smart has pioneered the hire of light truck mounted platforms on a self drive, self operate basis within the UK. The company has recently expanded to two hubs and with over 75 vehicles has the largest self drive fleet of 3.5 tonne truck mounts in the country. As well as joining the BSGA they also recently exhibited at this year’s Sign Show.
Commercial Director, Guy Willett comments: “Early adopters came from the signage sector and it’s still the largest market we serve. Many contractors could see the benefits of eliminating delivery/collection charges or operator costs, fulfilling several jobs on one hire, no downtime waiting for self propelled machines to arrive & improved customer relations with no plant remaining on site when the job is completed. Many signage clients particularly use us for branding exercises, outdoor media campaigns, asset registering and planned maintenance where multiple sites need to be covered within tight timescales to ensure their customer’s satisfaction.”
