The Planning Fight Goes On...
We recently reported that the BSGA had been successful in getting Kensington & Chelsea RBC to modify its Core Strategy document in respect of street adverts. But the fight continues in other areas.
Brighton and Hove CC is seeking to remove the ’deemed consent’ provisions for estate agents’ boards in the town’s central conservation areas. In response, the Association’s planning consultant has lodged strenuous objections to the draft proposal. Our representations, together with others from local estate agents groups, will be considered at a public hearing later in the year.
In the Association’s view these proposals represent a fundamental change to the deemed consent provisions of the planning regulations that may set a precedent for other local authorities to follow. They should therefore be resisted.
We’ll keep you posted on the outcome of the public enquiry.
