Sign UK - How was it for you?
Whats the answer was it the best show ever? Well, having been in the business for a relatively short time and being only my second time at the show, Ill pass on that one and leave judgement to those more experienced in these matters and the visitor stats. Neither, for the same reasons, will I offer comment on the relative merits of the new equipment, gadgets and gizmos that may have been on offer from exhibitors. Once again there are more knowledgeable scribes than I, who will doubtless be burning the midnight oil slaving over a hot word processor to bring you news of the latest must have technology.
In any case Im still in awe of all those super fast, super sized digital printers churning out vinyl by the acre; not to mention the routers on the stand opposite. On more than one occasion Istood with other visitors, mesmerised at the speed and accuracy with which they produced all manner of complex shapes and designs.
I kept expecting Rolf Harris to pop up and say, do you know what it is yet? So back to the original question how was it for me - from a purely practical point of view it was better, compared with last year my feet werent as sore at the end of the three days, which was due entirely to comfy shoes and a pair of foam insoles available from all branches of Boots at avery reasonable price!

From a business perspective, which is the all important one, I achieved much of what I set out to, which included catching up with some old friends and the news from the industry, making some new contacts and, most importantly saying hello to the BSGA members who were exhibiting at the show.

Thanks to them all for taking the time to have a few words. While I was doing that I also took a few pictures with my fancy new digital camera. Problem is, as you will see from the photos, I havent quite mastered all of its advanced features! And before any of our female readers say it, yes I should have read the manual, but Im a bloke, we dont do that, we like to learn from our mistakes! Its so much more fun that way.
I hope you like the pictures, despite my obvious lack of photographic talent, I had fun taking them and most of all I enjoyed meeting everyone. I hope your show went well.
