Signs Express welcomes NASA astronauts to Norwich
After completing their mission to the International Space Station earlier in the year, the crew of the Space Shuttle Discovery embarked on their next trip - a visit to the UK! The twin aims of the visit were to inspire young minds and highlight the need for a technically educated work force.
The Norfolk Exchange, a not-for-profit organisation which promotes links between schools and businesses, heard about the astronauts visit and snapped up the opportunity to include Norfolk in their schedule alongside London and Cardiff.

Signs Express as sponsors of the event welcomed two of the astronauts, Ken Ham and Karen Nyberg, to its headquarters in Norwich. During the visit Ken and Karen talked about what its really like in space and explained the aims of their mission, then tried their hand at signmaking.
Craig Brown, Managing Director of Signs Express, commenting on the visit said, We were very excited to be given the opportunity to receive such special guests.
Listening to the experiences of both Ken and Karen was inspiring. I do think however, they might reconsider their career choice after their quick lesson in sign making from Justin Pearce.
The astronauts also visited three local schools including Reepham High School, where they were presented them with a plaque to commemorate their first visit to Norfolk.
