Technical Specification:

All advertising copy digitally supplied to Sign Directions must adhere to the following specifications:

• Adobe Acrobat PDF files (preferred format) PDF files must have all fonts embedded and be high resolution (350dpi), CMYK colour separating. To avoid confusion a set of Sign Directions’ Acrobat distiller settings are available by contacting the publisher.

• Quark Xpress Files supplied must be created in Apple Mac platform versions of Quark. They should be supplied with all necessary fonts, eps files, images etc. All images used within the document must be high resolution (350dpi) CMYK tiff format. All colours must be CMYK separating.

• Adobe Illustrator Files must be created in AppleMac platform versions of Adobe Ilustrator. They should be supplied with all necessary fonts, eps files, images etc. All images used within the document must be high resolution (350dpi) CMYK format.

• Adobe Photoshop Files must be high resolution (350dpi) CMYK Tiff format.

All copy must have a filename consisting of Issue date and advertiser name.

Disc or CD If sending in files on disk or CD, please ensure that they have a laser proof attached for checking.

Adverts created in PC applications ie: Corel Draw, Photopaint, Publisher and PC versions of Quark Xpress, Illustrator etc must be supplied as Adobe Acrobat PDF files, using the correct Distiller settings.

Inserts
Inserts, either loose or bound in are accepted by arrangement and are individually costed, according to weight and size

Advertising rates are based on prevailing publisher costs. Rates and series discounts are therefore subject to adjustment by the publisher by one month’s notice at any time during the run of the contract. In the event of such adjustment, the advertiser or his agent may exercise the option to cancel by giving two month’s notice in writing to the publisher prior to the copy date.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Whilst every care is taken in the production of advertisements, the publishers cannot accept responsibility for the quality of reproduction of any advertisements if the artwork submitted does not meet the above criteria.

All advertisements should, ideally, be submitted in the first instance on disk, accompanied by an approved match proof.

The publishers will accept advertisements via email, but cannot guarantee the accuracy of reproduction without an approved match proof.

Sign Directions is the UK's leading trade magazine dedicated to the sign industry and is the only journal which is formally acknowledged by the BSGA.

The magazine has a circulation of 6993 and is distributed to signmakers and digital and screenprinters, as well as to a wide cross section of sign buyers ad ifluencers operating within the retail, commercial, leisure, petroleum, municipal and design sectors.

It is published eight times a year, with seven standard issues and a special Sign & Digital UK issue, which is dedicated to the exhibition.

Each of the seven standard issues includes a special feature that highlights a specific area of the industry and which enables companies active within that area to promote their products and services.  In addition, each issue also covers all of the latest industry news, product launches, digital advancements and environmental developments, as well as offering specially commissioned features on a wide range of topics and company profiles.
