New President for the BSGA

In handing over the reins to Murray, David Dyke, who had served as President for the past two years, thanked everyone at the BSGA for the great work done during this period. “It has resulted in a huge increase in the Association’s profile and standing in the sign trade,” he said.

“Recent tragic events have bought attention to our work to raise the need for even higher standards and quality within the industry and the Association now has the right tools in place to help members navigate their way safely through what can only be a described as a fundamental change in legislation and standards that sign companies must to respond to.”

Murray thanked David for the achievements made during his term of office, which had helped change attitudes as to the realities of what new legislation and standards mean to those sign companies that wish to offer a professional, competent and qualified service to their clients and customers.

“The work won’t stop,” he said.  “Sign makers have increasing responsibilities to their clients and in the future there will be an even greater for need for a trade association that they can rely on to work to ensure that they are fully informed about what is required of them.

“The BSGA is the only trade organisation dedicated to serving the sign industry and we are determined to see that our members are better prepared than their competitors to meet the challenges ahead.”

The following Council Members were also re-elected for the next two years at the AGM:

Haylee Benton of Trade Signs Fabrications; Edward Butterfield of Butterfield Signs: Steve Croucher of Arrow Plastics: Mike Hall of Mike Hall Technical Services: Rod Hill of Morgans Consult; and Rob Lambie of UK Signgroup.
