A New Beginning for New Ferry

Signs Express (Liverpool North & Wirral), based in Bromborough, used their sign making expertise to add some colour to the brand-new premises of a social enterprise which launched recently.

The team were delighted to donate a range of signage to the New Beginnings New Ferry CIC which was officially opened on 9th March by Alison McGovern MP and Steve Rotherham, Metro Mayor of Liverpool City region.

After a huge explosion at New Ferry last year left an area severely affected and businesses and residents displaced, a social enterprise ‘New Beginnings New Ferry CIC’ was established.

Signs Express were on hand to offer the Community Interest Company a smart new fascia sign, window graphics and plaques to help advertise their location and supporters of the enterprise.

New Ferry New Beginnings are using their new premises to offer services such as a social supermarket, counselling, retailing recycled paint, employability help, financial management courses plus much more. Their ethos is to help people to help themselves and by offering a wide range of services to the local community, they are looking to make a difference to the people of New Ferry.

The social supermarket stocks food and toiletries for the local community to buy at a reduced rate and everything sold would otherwise have been waste. The premises, based at the old Lloyds Bank on Bebington Road, Wirral, includes a training and meeting rooms, communal areas and display areas for local arts and crafts to be represented. The organisation relies heavily on the assistance of volunteers, donators and local businesses to give back to the community and the launch of the venue is a real milestone in the last year of fundraising for the team behind it.

John McEntee, director of Signs Express (Liverpool North & Wirral) said, “We have been extremely proud to be involved by donating signage and supporting New Ferry New Beginnings along their journey since the gas explosion that devastated the New Ferry community. They have been a pleasure to work with and we wish them every success with the launch. It’s an invaluable resource for the community.”

Signs Express has been established for over 20 years and works with organisations across the region, providing signs and graphics which help businesses stand out from the crowd.
