Button-fix used to mount Art Workers’ commemorative plaque

Prince Charles visited the Artworkers Guild to unveil a plaque to commemorate the completion of the Courtyard Project, a beautiful space to exhibit members’ work.

The Guild was founded in 1884 by young architects and designers who wanted to create a meeting place for the fine arts and the applied arts on an equal footing. It is a body of more than 350 artists, craftspeople and architects working at the highest levels of excellence in their professions and represents over 60 creative disciplines.

The Prince was greeted by the current Master, Jane Cox and the Chairman of the Trustees, Tony Wills (pictured with the plaque). Honorary Architect Simon Hurst who designed the courtyard, was on hand to present the design process and discuss how some of the Guild’s brothers had contributed to the build. The Prince, who is an Honorary Brother, met 14 other Brothers who were demonstrating their skills.
